Sensitive Reasons Why Teachers And Students Shouldn’t Be Friends On Facebook

Facebook is the world’s renowned most popular social network service where people connect locally and globally. People are becoming friends with old classmates on Facebook, long lost cousins and the neighbour across the country. Teens especially seem to have a tendency to add almost everyone to their friends list. So, if one of their teachers should send them a friend request, they’re likely to accept it. If they randomly came across a teacher’s profile on Facebook, they might also send a friend request too, without thinking much about it. A teacher, however, should give the situation some consideration.
Here are the sensitive reasons why teachers should NOT be friends with their students on Facebook.

Privacy – The teacher’s privacy and the student’s privacy are compromised when they become Facebook friends. A student (and that student’s friends) may learn things about their teacher that they otherwise wouldn’t have access to. This could be detrimental in the class setting.
Harassment – Again, this can go both ways. If the relationship between the teacher and the student is not a positive one, or deteriorates in the classroom, Facebook connections could be used to harass one another outside the confines of the school building.
Favoritism – Since teachers have many different students each day, if they were Facebook friends with some of their students and not others, they would likely be accused of showing favoritism to those students they had befriended on Facebook.
Intimidation – Some students might see a teacher’s Facebook friendship intimidating. They may be hesitant to accept the friendship because of not wanting their teacher to be privy to their conversations with friends. At the same time, they may fear saying no to a friend request from a teacher, for fear that they will offend the teacher and negatively affect the teacher’s treatment of them.
Age appropriate – Since a teacher would be an adult, there may be postings from friends on their Facebook page, which would not be age appropriate content for their students to be reading or viewing.
Prejudice – As much as teachers try not to allow outside knowledge affect their treatment of their students, it still can have a subliminal effect. A Facebook friendship may cause a teacher to see the student in a whole different light than they did in the classroom previously.
Misunderstandings – Online communications are often filled with misunderstandings about what a person meant by something they typed or did online. A teacher/student friendship on Facebook could create more opportunities for these types of misunderstandings.
Expectations – A student who has a teacher as a Facebook friend may expect special treatment from that teacher. The student may also expect the teacher to answer questions regarding assignments and homework via their Facebook friendship, that should be reserved for the classroom.

A teacher that haven’t given this situation any thought, should do so now as this is the best time to do so. The easiest solution is to simply make it a matter of personal policy not be Facebook friends with any student at your school. So that, no one will get offended when you reject or ignore their friend request, and you can’t be put in a position that you may later regret.

Best Solution On How To Stop Unwanted Facebook Notification from groups

Are you bombarded with unwanted facebook notifications from groups? Would you like it to stop right away? Then relax as you read
Notification on Facebook
Unwanted notifications likely come from groups you are added to, but don’t curse or hate if someone adds you to a group on facebook, that’s the reason why you are friends. And of – course you don’t want it to seem you’re alone or not recognized by your friends. So like said earlier, don’t hate or curse despite the fact that you don’t like the notifications. For me, my notification field is like a marketplace but I never complain, knowing fully well that those who added me didn’t mean an offense and also because i can leave or stop the notifications with one click. But that doesn’t mean it’s appropriate to add friends to some groups without letting know about it, doing so always makes members of groups leave, even if they don’t get angry and leave the group, they won’t take the group serious. If you don’t like a group you are added to, don’t publicly say things like; “who added me to this group? Delete me right away”, don’t. Instead leave quietly.

Here's how you can stop a group notification on Facebook

  • Log in to your facebook account
  • Visit group
  • Look to the right side of the group (your screen) just below the group picture or logo
  • You'll see NOTIFICATIONS
  • Click on it and click on NO

With that in place you have successfully disabled the group's notification

To leave a group on Facebook

  • Log in to your facebook account
  • Visit group
  • Look to the right side of the group (your screen) just below the group picture or logo
  • You'll see an icon just after NOTIFICATIONS
  • Click on it and click on Leave Group

That's all, Hope this was helpful. I'd be glad if you share this with your friends. Kindly use the share buttons. Subscribe to our RSS feeds.

How to Block Explicit Facebook Photos You are Tagged on (Protect Your Privacy)

Facebook photo tags can be so annoying, It's good but people tend to use it wrongly. That is; someone tagging you without consulting you about it, under minding the fact that you mightn't like the photo. Though these people are not to be blamed as they are your friends, they only tag you to their photos to show that you’re on their minds and for other kind reasons. Thing is; you’re a human and mightn't like all the photos you’re tagged in, it might be because the photos are adult-rated, or simply explicit.

The good thing here is; Facebook users now have a solution to this, where you can edit your Privacy Settings. So that you’ll have to approve any photo you’re tagged in before it can be formally displayed on your page and on your friends’ news feed, or disapprove it so that it won’t display on your wall or album and your friends’ news feed.

To do this;

  • Login to your Facebook account using a computer
  • Click on the small arrow button, next to Home menuat the top right of your Facebook page, Where you also have your Facebook Name.

Click on image for better view
  • From the drop down menu click on privacy settings.
  • When privacy settings page opens, scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Click Edit Settings under Timeline and Tagging

Click on image for better view

    • From the list of options on the Timeline and Tagging window, look through the list you'll see; "Review posts friends tag you in before they appear on your timeline".

Click on image for better view
    • Click on the arrow at the end of it, and the window below will pop up

Click on image for better view

      • Click on the Enabled / Disabled button at the top right of the window above, > select Enabled to enable feature so that every photo you're tagged in will await you for approval.

If you haven't set this up on your Facebook account yet, it is important that you do so as soon as you can. People tag me every single day and so I had to activate the photo tag control so that i will have to approve any photo I am tagged in, before it can become live on my album. I did that cos my privacy is very important to me. I hope the tutor is explanatory enough and served some help. Cheers! and happy surfing.

How to Make Money Online, The Sure Most Lucrative Business Ever

      I was motivated by one of my client to write about blogging, because of this I decided to unleash a little information on blogging. Now, let’s go;

      Blogging

It’s amazing so many people don’t know what blogging is.

Blogging is the most lucrative business a user (you) can do to make money on the internet. It is now Nigeria's hottest internet business and the world at large.

Blogging is a business of writing and publishing articles online. You can write about anything but across popular keywords.

Blogging is not for everyone. But if you’ve thought of something that won’t need your attention all the time but works for you and if you’ve also thought of a good additional income source then blogging should be what you need.

Why Blogging is Worth Out Time

Owning a website actually is a visa to make money massively just as the internet is fast growing and constantly. Some of the world’s richest individuals are website owners (webmasters) the world’s youngest richest, Mark Zuckerberg is a clear proof, that’s only because the internet is the fastest means of communication which makes it the fastest growing community in our today's world and in history. I don’t see the internet going out of existence cos of its importance and relevance, it does 99% good than 1% harm.

      The internet is made up of websites, which means the more the internet grows the more webmasters will grow. Everyone would indeed love to be a webmaster. But the question is;

Do you have the skill to create a website? It’s not compulsory you have to be skillful in creating a website though, cos you can pay for a website to be created. Thing is; would you want to give a huge amount for a professional looking website? A friend of mine got one for #50, 000 naira last two months (that's about $312 USD)

You mightn't have the skill to create a website, you mightn't also or are not ready to invest that much in owning a website.

But the good news here is; Users (you) are no less, you have a room on the internet. You can do what webmasters are doing and make the money they make. What’s important is; own a platform where you have freedom so that you can monetize with the world’s most successful online ads publishing program (Google Adsense)

      Blogging is a Business that;

      • Won’t take the whole of your day yet make more than your day job would do.
      • Generates money even when you are not there.

Causes of Slow Running Computers and How To Fix.

It’s difficult for anyone to bear a slow computer as it frustrates, especially when you’re doing something important. Those experiencing this should know what I am talking about. Surely your computer was not that slow when you bought it but now you don’t know why it’s slow.
The good thing here is, it’s not impossible to bring your computer back on track. Above all, it’ll cost you nothing.

There are a couple of reasons that make your computer run slowly, some of these reasons are:

      1. Spyware and Viruses.
Viruses are harmful to computers. If you frequently download torrents or other illegal stuffs from unknown websites or transfer files from other computers to yours, you are likely to become a victim of spywares and computer viruses. Effective and well updated antivirus will definitely help you solve the problem.
      2. Junk items.
If you have been using your computer for quite some time, you will definitely see some unwanted files such as cache files, cookies, and other unnecessary components that clog up your system. Most of the time users don’t even notice the existence of these files.
      3. Unwanted applications and pop-ups.
Programs and applications can also cause a computer to slow down. Check your system, and see if you have any program you no longer use or that is not important and uninstall. Disallowing auto pop-ups can also solve the problem.

      Fixing Slow PC

Now that you know the reasons why a your computer is not performing as fast as it was, it’s time to learn how to improve the performance, or better, to its original state. Here are a few tips to speed it up:

      1. Get viruses out.

Scan your computer against virus with well updated anti-virus to get virus out.

      2. Delete unnecessary files.

Once it gets to a month, clear up those temporary folders as you won’t need them in the future. To clear up those files,
      • Click the Start button
      • Click Control Panel
      • Click Network and Internet then click Internet Options
      • Click the General tab, and then
      • Click Delete under Browsing history
      • Click Delete all, click Yes to confirm that you want to delete this information, and then click OK

      3. Uninstall unused programs.

If you have programs that you won’t use anymore, simply head to Control Panel, click Programs, and then click Programs and Features. Select a program, and then click Uninstall.
If the tips above can’t solve your problem, you might want to consider formatting your computer but make sure you backup your files before proceeding! Still not working? Then the only 2 options left are either upgrading your RAM or buying a new computer.
If you have any questions or didn't understand something, you can point it out on your comment.

      Hope this helps?
