Quick Launch Windows
This article is recognized by Windows Support Centre and we strongly believe it will answer all questions about the Quick launch.
Quick launch is that area that holds shortcuts on the taskbar. It’s next to the start button and ends with chevron >>
Quick launch keeps programs shortcut icons at one click away; ready to go at the click of the mouse button. It’s cool cos it’s always on sight. That means you won’t have to open the Start Menu or minimize all opened programs, point at the program you’re going for before clicking to run, rather you just click and the icon on the Q.L. and it will be launched (opened).
If you have opened more than one program, you might like to display and use the Quick Launch bar. The Quick Launch bar makes it easy to access frequently used programs like Windows Media Player and your e-mail, and to open an Internet Explorer window. Windows XP loads several programs in the Quick Launch, including Show Desktop. One click on Show Desktop minimizes all the programs on your desktop. Another click restores them just as you'd left them.
How to add quick launch to taskbar
- If the Quick Launch bar is not displayed, right-click an empty area on the taskbar and click Properties.
- On the Taskbar tab, under Taskbar appearance, select the Show Quick Launch check box and click OK.
Repeat process to remove Quick Launch from Taskbar
An easier way to do this is to;
1Right – click on the taskbar plain area ==> 2Hover your mouse over Taskbar at the top of the list, when it’s menu opens 3click on Quick Launch
Repeat process to remove Quick Launch from Taskbar
How to add a program to the Quick Launch bar
- From the desktop or Windows Explorer, click the icon for the program you want to add, and then drag it to the Quick Launch portion of the Taskbar located next to the Start button.
The icon for that program appears next to the other Quick Launch icons on the taskbar.
To remove icons from the Quick Launch, simply right – click on the icon on Quick Launch and click on delete and it’ll be removed.
Notes
- If the Quick Launch bar is not displayed, right-click an empty area on the taskbar, point to Toolbars, and then click Quick Launch.
- If you right-click an empty area on the taskbar and do not see the Toolbars option, click Lock the Taskbar to clear the check mark.
